Former director of Highland County Children Services, Wendy Jacobs, has been placed on administrative leave.

Debbie Robbins, Director of the offices of Highland County Children Services and Job and Family Services,  told The Highland County Press Monday that Jacobs was placed on administrative leave on Aug. 3.

Robbins said that she could not discuss what led to the action.

"I cannot say right now. That is a discussion I need to have with the (Highland County) commissioners," Robbins said.

Jacobs is on administrative leave with pay, and it was effective Wednesday afternoon.

In July, Highland County Children Services and Highland County Job and Family Services began a merger. Robbins, who was director of Job and Family Services, became director of both agencies. Jacobs, who was director of Children Services, began serving in a supervisor role.
