Hillsboro woman indicted on manufacturing meth in vicinity of a juvenile

A Hillsboro woman has been indicted on meth-related charges, after it was discovered during a traffic stop that she was allegedly in possession of materials used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, while a juvenile was in the vehicle.

Donna Everhart was indicted during the July session of a grand jury in Highland County Common Pleas Court on one count of second-degree felony illegal assembly or possession of chemicals used in the manufacture of drugs in the vicinity of a juvenile; endangering children, a felony of the third degree; and a forfeiture specification.

Everhart is currently being held in the Highland County Justice Center.

Det. Sergeant Danny Croy of the Highland County Sheriff's Office said that the investigation began when "when a traffic stop was initiated by a deputy on May 25 at 1:35 a.m. in the Rocky Fork Lake area. Upon doing so, there was a search conducted of the vehicle."

There were three adults in the vehicle, along with one juvenile, according to Croy. The vehicle, he said, belonged to Everhart.

"Numerous items related to the manufacture of meth were located in a bag," Croy said.

Highland County Children Services was contacted, and vehicle was impounded. Everhart was released at the time, pending testing of the evidence, he said.

"It wasn't a working lab, but numerous items related to the manufacture of methamphetamine were found," Croy said.

According to the Highland County Clerk of Courts website, Everhart is being represented by attorney William Armintrout. She is scheduled for a pretrial on July 31, with a trial scheduled for Aug. 23. Bond has been set at $10,000.
