Hillsboro Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2972 donates to Samaritan Outreach

Members of the Hillsboro Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2972 presented Samaritan Outreach Services Executive Director Wade Hamilton with a check for $150 on Wednesday morning.

Marc Bayless and Ryan Passet, of the Hillsboro Fire Department and Hillsboro Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2972, said they pledged to donate the financial equivalent of the food donations collected for the program during Buckeye Country's recent food drive at Community Markets in Hillsboro.

Hamilton said that the check will help Samaritan Outreach purchase approximately 1,500 pounds of food from the Freestore Foodbank, which will help serve the over 900 families who use Samaritan Outreach Services each month.

In addition to their food pantry, Samaritan Outreach is now organizing the Toys for Tots Christmas toy drive in Highland County. The Hillsboro firefighters stated that donations can be dropped off to the donation box in their fire station's main lobby.
