On June 21, the manager of Treewood Apartments advised a male was attempting to pry open the storage buildings at the complex. Officers responded and completed a report. There is a suspect, and this report remains under investigation. Estimated damage was reported at $100.
On June 22, a resident in the 200 block of East Pleasant Street reported several sets of dinner dishes, home interior figurines and camping equipment missing from the basement. The theft occurred from June 13 to June 22. This report remains under investigation. Estimated loss is valued at $3,650.
On June 22, a two-vehicle crash was investigated on North High Street by Collins Avenue. Brenda Cox of Hillsboro and Vickie Linke of Toledo were both stopped at a traffic light. When the light turned green, Mrs. Cox proceeded forward and struck Mrs. Linke, who was on a motorcycle. The motorcycle and its occupant fell to the pavement. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles received minor damage. Brenda Cox was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
At 2:05 p.m., Carol Hall of Wilmington reported that her purse had been taken from her vehicle while it was parked behind a laundromat in the 200 block of North High Street in the city of Hillsboro.
At 6:44 p.m., a two-vehicle injury crash was reported in the 200 block of North High Street. Upon investigation, it was determined that a 2004 Dodge operated by Morgan D. Hollon of Blanchester was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of a 2000 Dodge operated by Cassidy M. Jennett, also of Blanchester. A 16-year-old female passenger in the Hollon vehicle claimed injury. Hollon's vehicle sustained disabling damage, while the Jennett vehicle sustained non-functional damage.
