Hillsboro man pleads not guilty to conspiracy charge

A Hillsboro man has pleaded not guilty to a conspiracy charge after federal prosecutors alleged that he claimed to be part of the computer hacking group "Anonymous" and posted a YouTube threat to release confidential computer information belonging to the University of Pittsburgh.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Brett Hudson, 26, of Hillsboro, had an arraignment this week before Magistrate Judge Lisa Pupo Lenihan in the U.S. District Court Western District of Pennsylvania.

"Federal authorities said Mr. Hudson and another man, Alexander Waterland, 24, of Loveland, Ohio, posted the threats in April and May. Mr. Waterland has also pleaded not guilty," the newspaper reported.

Pitt officials said their computer information was never hacked.

Waterland and Hudson had worked together at a Mason company.
