The Hillsboro Police Department is investigating an incident in the 700 block of North West Street after a report of gunshots being fired late Monday evening.

At approximately 11:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, the HPD received a report of possible gunshots along with "a group of people running around and getting into cars." The people reportedly left the North West Street residence after the shots were heard.

According to the HPD, officers arrived and were told that Jacob Tolle, 27, of Hillsboro had been shot and had left the scene. Tolle later arrived at Highland District Hospital with a gunshot wound in the leg. He was transferred to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

After investigation, officers charged Kenny A. Price, Jr., 24, of 764 N. West St., with felonious assault.

Ohio BCI also was called to assist with the investigation.
