Hillsboro business donates $500 for needy children

The Hot Spot Skilled Stop Games has donated $500 to the Highland County Prosecutor's Office on behalf of Highland County Community Action Organization's "Adopt A Family" program.

Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins, Assistant Prosecutor Molly Bolek and Legal Intern Ross Greer were on hand to accept the donation from Sheila, Maudie and Jackie, staff members at The Hot Spot, located on Catherine Street in Hillsboro.

The funds will go toward the purchase of Christmas gifts for approximately 57 children and 20 area families.

Collins said her office volunteers to assist the HCCAO Adopt A Family program with Angie Mustard at Community Action. The program seeks to match eligible needy families and children with existing community programs and private donors, as well as ensuring all needy children receive holiday gifts this season.

Collins thanked the business employees for the timely and generous donation.
