Hillsboro area man arrested on domestic violence charge

On Tuesday, Oct. 20 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Highland County Sheriff's Office deputy was dispatched to a business in Liberty Township following a report of an assault that had occurred earlier at a residence on state Route 73.

Following an initial investigation, the deputy responded to the residence, assisted by an officer from the Hillsboro Police Department. Fernando Trevino Jr., 48, was located inside the residence, concealed behind a curtain in a stairwell, and was taken into custody.

Trevino was transported to the Highland County Justice Center, where he was charged with domestic violence.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office thanks the Hillsboro Police Department for its assistance.
