Hills and Dales annual balloon launch held at courthouse

Hills and Dales staff and students, along with members of the Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Highland County Commissioners Shane Wilkin, Jeremy Shaffer and Tom Horst, participated in the annual Board of Developmental Disabilities Balloon Launch at the Highland County Courthouse square Friday afternoon.

School buses filled with Hills and Dales students and staff members arrived at the courthouse at 2 p.m., along with two vans full of balloons.

Commissioner Horst read a proclamation from the commissioners' office recognizing March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month before helping lead the countdown to the balloon launch.
