Highland County under flood advisory, hazardous weather outlook UPDATED

More than 1.5 inches of rain has fallen in the past day, leaving Highland County, and surrounding counties on a flood advisory, flood watch, and a hazardous weather outlook Tuesday. Rain that fell through the night added to creeks and streams that were already high due to recent storms.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, of 8 a.m. Tuesday, Wilmington had received 1.56 inches in the last 24 hours, and an estimated 2.5 to 3 inches of rain in the past week. According to the NWS, there is no official weather observer in Highland County, so local numbers were not available.
Andrew Snyder, a meteorologist at the NWS, the rain should taper off as a cold front moves in.
"There's a cold front across the region slowly pushing off the the southeast, expect rain to taper this afternoon, and tonight," Snyder said. "Thursday is looking kind of dry."
According to the hazardous weather outlook, "periods of rainfall will occur today. Although rain is not forecast to be particularly heavy, saturated grounds may lead to some localized minor flooding. Cold air and clearing skies could lead to some frost Wednesday night."
The Ohio Department of Transportation has not officially closed any roads in Highland County due to flooding, but roadways in several neighboring counties are closed or restricted.
U.S. Route 52 in Brown County is now open to one lane of traffic between Aberdeen and Ripley following its early-morning closure due to a landslide.
U.S. 52 is also reduced to one lane between Aberdeen and the Adams County line due to mudslide in this area. Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation will continue working today to clear the route at both locations. Although it is open to traffic, motorists are reminded to exercise additional caution in the work area.
The following closures and restrictions are also in place this morning:
• S.R. 41 in Adams County is CLOSED between the Brown County line and S.R. 136 at Bentonville.
• S.R. 220 in Pike County is RESTRICTED at River Road.
• S.R. 141 in Lawrence County is REDUCED to ONE LANE just north of Bald Knob-Dog Fork Road due to a slip; traffic is being maintained with temporary signals.

• S.R. 141 in Lawrence County is REDUCED to ONE LANE just north of Bald Knob-Dog Fork Road due to a slip; traffic is being maintained with temporary signals.
• State Route 41 in Ross County is now OPEN between Humbolt and Fruitdale, north of Bainbridge.
• S.R. 73 in Scioto County is CLOSED at Rarden.
