Highland County Junior Fair horse exhibitors qualify for state fair

In order to participate in the Junior Fair horse shows at the state level, exhibitors must first qualify at the county level.

Highland County held a Performance Against Standards (PAS) horse show on Saturday, July 2 at the fairgrounds for Jr. Fair horse exhibitors who wanted to qualify for the state fair contests.

Contestants were required to meet a certain score in at least two riding categories in order to qualify to show at the Ohio State Fair on July 25-29.

The following 4-H members met the requirements and will represent Highland County 4-H at the state fair (l-r): Megan Thompson, Kurstin Wilkin, Abby Cornele, and Michaela Chaney.

Highland County Jr. Fair Horse Exhibitors still have an opportunity to qualify for the Ohio State Fair during PAS shows at other counties this upcoming weekend.[[In-content Ad]]
