Highland County fugitive found in Springfield

A Highland County inmate on the lam since Monday evening was located and taken into custody Saturday afternoon.
According to Lt. Chris Lengefeld of the Highland County Sheriff's Office, deputies from the Highland County Sheriff's Office received information that escapee Gerald Fletcher was in possession of a cellular phone. With assistance from the telephone company, deputies were able to get GPS coordinates on his location in Springfield, Ohio.
On Nov. 17 at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Springfield Police Department located and took Fletcher into custody. Fletcher will be transported back to the Highland County jail at a later date.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office reported Wednesday that they wre investigating leads to the whereabouts of Fletcher and had filed a felony obstruction of justice charge on an individual that has hampered the deputies during this investigation.
On Nov. 12 at approximately 6:03 p.m., Fletcher and another inmate, Robert Gibson, who were assigned to the kitchen detail, fled the jail while taking trash to the dumpster. Both inmates ran from the area on foot.
Fletcher was being held for failure to appear for court. His original charge was misdemeanor theft.
At approximately 7:45 p.m. Nov. 12, the Highland County Sheriff's Office investigated a lead in the 7000 block of Selph Road. At that time, Robert Gibson was located and taken into custody.
