Highland County FFA Chapters participate in the Kroger Grand Opening event

On December 5, all Highland County (Fairfield, Hillsboro, Lynchburg-Clay, Greenfield-McClain and Mowrystown) FFA chapters participated in the Kroger Grand Opening Event by setting up displays highlighting various parts of the Agriculture industry.
During the event, the FFA members mingled with the Kroger executives and customers promoting their area of agriculture. Hillsboro FFA display was about greenhouse production; Lynchburg-Clay’s display was about proper meat preparation and identification; Fairfield highlighted FFA history and the FFA involvement in the community; McClain FFA focused on local produce and Mowrystown FFA highlighted agriculture equipment. The FFA chapters would like to thank Five Points Implement for providing the FFA with two tractors for the event.
During the morning announcements at Kroger, the students learned that the Kroger Company invested over $4 million to renovate the Hillsboro Kroger store.
The students also heard remarks from Brent Wilson, store manager, and Mayor Drew Hastings.
The Highland County FFA Chapters would like to thank Mr. Brent Wilson and the Kroger Company for involving us in this community event and for the $100 donation.
