Highland County Family YMCA 10-year Anniversary Celebration Week proclaimed

The Highland County Board of Commissioners presented a proclamation to the Highland County Family YMCA at the Wednesday, Oct. 30 commission meeting.
Commissioners proclaimed the week of Nov. 4-9 as Highland County Family YMCA 10-year Anniversary Celebration Week.
Commissioners Tom Horst and Jeremy Shaffer made the presentation. Commission President Shane Wilkin was attending a meeting on the Ohio State University Extension program in Lebanon on Wednesday.
The local YMCA opened in February 2003 at 201 Diamond Drive, Hillsboro.
Olympic marathon runner Julie Isphording (1984) will be the guest speaker at the YMCA's 10-year anniversary open house on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The Nov. 9 event begins with tours at 5 p.m., followed by desserts at 6 p.m. and the program at 7:15 p.m. The open house also benefits the Strong Kids, Strong Communities Fund at the Highland County Family YMCA.
"We're honored to have Julie Isphording come out and talk about health and fitness," Mull said. "We're also going to talk about the history of the Y; where we've been and where we're going."
Mull invited the community to attend the Nov. 9 open house.
