Highland County Community Action holds 7th annual golf tournament

On Wednesday, Aug. 28, Highland County Community Action held its seventh annual golf tournament at Buckeye Hills Golf Course.

The winning team, with a score of 59, was First State Bank.

Representing the bank were Judd Johnson, Mike Pell, Doug Henry and Chad Wilson.

Julie Wise, executive director for HCCAO, would like to personally thank the following corporate and hole sponsors: Applied Energy Products, Provident Management, Candle-lite, Community Market - Greenfield, Heskett Insurance Agency, Greystone, Lesia Langston-McKenna, DMD, McDonald's - Hillsboro, Ohio Capital Corp. for Housing, Rick's Hometown TV & Appliance Center, S.R. Snodgrass, S.O.S., Schwendeman Agency, Shafer Heating and Cooling, Southern Hills Community Bank - Greenfield and Leesburg, Southern State Community College, Weastec, Buck's Tire Service, Lykins Oil, The Letter Shop, Jim Knisley Body Shop, Hartley Oil Company, Ellenbee Leggett, Arrick's Propane, BK Exteriors, Fairfield Homes - Gorsuch Mgmt., McCarty Associates, and Weller's Plumbing and Heating.

As a result of the generous donations, the tournament was successful in raising over $3,500 for the Senior Nutritions Meals on Wheels Program.

The Meals on Wheels Program serves more than 125 nutritious meals each day throughout Highland County. Eligible adults must be 60 years of age or older and be homebound.
