Help Me Grow celebrates with the Easter Bunny

Help Me Grow of Highland County held its annual Easter egg hunt Wednesday at the Hi-TEC Center in Hillsboro, with a special visit by the Easter Bunny.

Nearly 40 children turned out for the event according to Heather Gibson, Help Me Grow Project Director. The program holds an Easter event each year, but there are monthly play groups for families and children. Over the summer, the groups go on field trips, including visits to a movie theater, apple farm, and swimming pool.

Each child who attended Wednesday's event received a photo with the Easter Bunny, Easter Eggs with candy and small toys, and a book provided by RIF (Reading is Fundamental and the Casner Foundation.

Help Me Grow (HMG) is Ohio’s system for pregnant mothers and children from birth to age 3 that provides state and federal funds to county Family and Children First Councils to be used in conjunction with state, local and other federal funds to implement and maintain a coordinated, community-based infrastructure that promotes trans-disciplinary, family-centered services for expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers and their families. The Ohio Department of Health, Bureau of Early Intervention Services (BEIS) is the lead agency administering HMG program in Ohio.
