HDH Foundation: A holiday celebration

Members of the community gathered for a time of fellowship and celebration as the Highland District Hospital Foundation hosted its annual Holiday Ball on Saturday evening at the Hillsboro Elks Lodge.
More than 200 attended the event, which was formerly known as the HDH Foundation Gala.
The crowd raised glasses of pink champagne after a dinner buffet as it was announced that Foundation’s two-year fundraising campaign for a new digital mammography unit at the hospital had reached its goal to pay off the unit – which was a $289,000 purchase.
“This really has been a fun evening, and it’s a chance for us to celebrate with those who have financially supported the foundation,” Highland District Hospital Foundation Director Cathy Jones said.
In addition to dinner, dancing and music provided by Two Man Band members Paul Blankenship and Don Greene, there was silent and live auction, and a John Deere Gator CX Utility Vehicle was raffled off during the Holiday Ball.
Foundation chair Vicki Rhude thanked everyone who helped make the night a success.
“I want to thank all of you for your support,” Rhude said.
“You’re all amazing. The support you have given us has helped so many in Highland County, and I can’t thank you enough – you’re absolutely the most special people I know.”
