HCSO files felony obstruction of justice charge in search for fugitive

The Highland County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating leads to the whereabouts of fugitive Gerald L. Fletcher and has filed a felony obstruction of justice charge on an individual that has hampered the deputies during this investigation.
On Nov. 12 at approximately 6:03 p.m., Fletcher and another inmate, Robert Gibson, who were assigned to the kitchen detail, fled the jail while taking trash to the dumpster. Both inmates ran from the area on foot.
Gerald Lee Fletcher was being held for failure to appear for court. His original charge was misdemeanor theft.
At approximately 7:45 p.m. Nov. 12, the Highland County Sheriff's Office investigated a lead in the 7000 block of Selph Road. At that time, Robert Gibson was located and taken into custody.

The Highland County Sheriff's Office is offering a reward of up to $500 for information leading directly to the immediate arrest of Fletcher.
