Hastings to address township Fire/EMS issue May 16 at SSCC

In a May 11 memo to Hillsboro Fire and Rescue Chief Jerry Powell, Mayor Drew Hastings said he will address the "township Fire/EMS issue at a public briefing on May 16 at Southern State Community College at 6 p.m."

Hastings goes on to say: "No on-duty firefighters are to attend the meeting and no city of Hillsboro fire-rescue vehicles or equipment are permitted at Southern State during the briefing.

"At the briefing, I will request that all cell phones and communication devices be turned off. Please advise your personnel accordingly," Hastings said.
