Greenfield woman indicted in death of infant

A Greenfield woman has been indicted on charges relating to the death of her infant daughter.
Jessica Miller, of Greenfield, was indicated Tuesday by a grand jury in Highland County Common Pleas Court on one charge of involuntary manslaughter and one charge of child endangering.
Miller's daughter, 10-month-old Camry Lyn Calhoun, died at her residence in the 100 block of South Washington Street in Greenfield on March 21. Deputy Highland County Coroner Dr. Jeff Beery ruled "the cause of death to be drowning and the manner of death is an accident."
Greenfield Police Chief Tim Hester told The Highland County Press that he is proud of the investigation his department conducted.
"They did a very good job," Hester said. "We had to be very thorough and it took a considerable amount of time, with the lab work and coroner's work. I think the charges are appropriate, based on the evidence that was uncovered throughout the investigation."
Miller was arrested Tuesday night, according to Highland County Sheriff Ron Ward, and is held without bond awaiting a bond hearing via video arrangement.
At the time of the infant's death, according to Highland County Common Pleas Juvenile and Probate Court Judge Kevin Greer, the other child was placed in the care of Highland County Children's Services.
