Greenfield Police Department investigates meth operation

On Friday, July 19 at 12:51 p.m., Greenfield police officers served a search warrant at 536 McKell Ave.

The warrant was obtained after an investigation of suspected drug activity that was initiated after the department received several citizen complaints, according to Police Chief Tim Hester.

Officers made forcible entry to the home and detained two adult males and two adult females, who were transported to the city jail.

Upon searching the home, officers located three active one-pot meth cookers, numerous chemicals used in the manufacture of meth, and over 30 used meth cookers that were being stored inside a freezer.

The cleanup will take several hours and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency has responded to assist.

Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire Dept. was also called to the scene for safety purposes.

Charges will likely be filed, pending the outcome of the investigation.
