Greenfield Historical Society's Ghost Walk Oct. 8
Greenfield Historical Society's annual Ghost Walk will be held Monday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m.
The Old Burying Ground will come alive with the story of early residents of Greenfield.
One ghost will be Samuel Gadbury, a farmer in the area that opened a bakery in Greenfield during the Civil War.
The Gadbury Bakery was a Greenfield landmark for many years. Samuel Gadbury will be portrayed by Eric Salyers.
Daniel Leib built an early mill in Greenfield and will be played by Jerry Parker. It was while constructing a second mill that Leib fell to his death.
Roxanne Judkins will be portraying Cordelia Macey Depoy. She died in July, 1865, just eight days before her husband was mustered out of the army at the close of the Civil War.
Terry Washburn will be Joshua Merrill, a native of New Hampshire, who as a young man came to Ohio, was a soldier in the War of 1812 and brought his large family to Greenfield.

James Patterson, will be portrayed by Bob Judkins. Patterson was a member of a long line of Pattersons in Highland County. His father was a Revolutionary War soldier. He died in an accident and his wife died several years later leaving several young children to be raised by family members.
In addition, a hotdog and chili supper will be served at Travellers Rest starting at 5 p.m. This makes a quick supper for those wanting to attend the Ghost Walk. Prices for the supper will be a free will donation.
