GOBA opening ceremonies moved to fairgrounds

An estimated 1,600 cyclists set up camp at the Highland County Fairgrounds Saturday afternoon; however, unexpected rain showers have pushed opening ceremonies for the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure from the Highland County Courthouse lawn to the fairgrounds.

Local GOBA organizer Terry Mull said that the parade of cyclists will continue through the uptown area.[[In-content Ad]]Hillsboro GOBA ambassador Margaret Horst said the opening ceremony, which is to include remarks from Pat Hays of WVNU Lite 97.5, Highland County Commissioner Tom Horst and Hillsboro Mayor Drew Hastings, will now take place at the Poultry Barn at the Highland County Fairgrounds.

A wedding ceremony, scheduled to be perfrormed by Hastings, will take place at the Fairgrounds.
