George Jones brings farewell tour to Ohio State Fair Aug. 2

Ohio State Fair officials have announced that country singer Crystal Gayle will replace Tanya Tucker as the opening act for George Jones when his farewell tour makes a stop at the Ohio State Fair on Thursday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m.
Nashville.com reported last week that Jones, 81, was in a Nashville hospital for observation and canceled weekend shows in Georgia and Virginia.
The Ohio State Fair concert is part of Jones' final tour, entitled "The Grand Tour," which is set to end with a sold-out, all-star show in Nashville, Tenn. on Nov. 22.
Gayle, Loretta Lynn’s younger sister, will take the stage at the WCOL Celeste Center and perform some of her 20 number one country songs.
Original tickets already purchased for this show are still valid and include admission to the Ohio State Fair when purchased in advance, allowing visitors to arrive early and enjoy all the Fair has to offer.
For those interested, tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase through the day of the show. Visit Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets, or call the Ticketmaster support at 800-653-8000 to purchase tickets or for ticket refunds.
