First Lady Frances Strickland guest speaker at Aug. 1 picnic

    Ohio first lady Frances Strickland will be the featured speaker for the annual Highland County Democratic Party picnic Sunday, Aug. 1 from 4-7 p.m. at the Amvets Park, 11539 North Shore Road (Rocky Fork Lake area), Hillsboro, in their air-conditioned meeting room.
   The event is free to the public, with a free-will donation accepted.
   The menu will include hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, pasta salad, baked beans, potato chips, drinks, and dessert.
   Justin Fallon, State Senate candidate, will be present, as well as State Representative candidate Bill Horne and Highland County Commissioner Gary Heaton.
   Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day, as well as a lively auction conducted by Frank Grover.
