Several area fire departments responded to a house fire in the 7200 block of Green Road in Liberty Township Wednesday morning.

Initial investigation indicated the fire started in a chimney, according to Paint Creek Joint EMS and Fire District Chief Bradley George, who was on the scene shortly after 9 a.m.

George said all residents got out safely and there were no reports of injuries.

In addition to Paint Creek, other responding departments included Hillsboro, Southern Highland Joint Fire District, Lynchburg and Marshall, with most firefighters staging along Green Road, as the home is approximately two-tenths of a mile from the roadway. Sections of fire hose were stretched from Green Road along the driveway to the residence.

The fire remains under investigation.
