Firefighters called to U.S. 62 south in New Market Twp.

Paint Creek Joint EMS and Fire District, along with supporting fire departments, the Hillsboro Police Department and the Highland County Sheriff's Office, responded to a house fire just south of Hillsboro off U.S. 62 at Mulhbach Road in New Market Township at approximately 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The extent of damages was not immediately known.

Firefighters remained on the scene after 11 a.m.
