Escaped inmate apprehended in Greenfield

An escaped inmate from London Correctional has been apprehended in Greenfield.

According to a report by www.fayetteadvocate.com, Spencer C. Johnson was apprehended in the village of Greenfield Saturday afternoon.

Authorities say they received numerous tips of suspicious activity on the Triangle Bike Path and when checking the area, Johnson surrendered without incident.

London Correction reportedly went on lockdown as Johnson was transported back to prison.

Johnson ran from a work detail on Aug. 5 along Interstate 70 in Madison County.

He was serving a three-year sentence on a burglary charge stemming from an April home invasion in Washington Court House.
