Democrats' latest gambit to draw Ohio blue

Rep. Brad Wenstrup

Today, Congressman Brad Wenstrup released the following statement on Ohio Democrats’ latest power grab to change the redistricting rules by altering the state constitution.

“If passed, Issue One would give the keys to a group of unelected, unaccountable commission members to politically gerrymandering legislative districts across the state. At the same time, it would dangerously dismantle popular existing safeguards like keeping counties whole and making compact districts, all measures which were overwhelmingly passed by Ohio voters in the recent decades,” Wenstrup said.

“Further, this amendment could also severely restrict Ohioans' legal rights to challenge bad redistricting decisions. Issue One is a bad deal for Ohio voters and I urge all Ohio voters to reject Issue One at the ballot box this November.”

Seriously, a REPUBLICAN in OHIO complaining about gerrymandering? I mean, seriously!
