Lepi Enterprises, Inc. of Zanesville, Ohio a firm specializing in historic renovation, has been selected to provide construction management services for planned exterior repair work on Hillsboro’s Bells Opera House.
Recent projects by Lepi Enterprises include the Tecumseh Opera House in Shawnee, Ohio and the Woodward Theatre in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
According to Pamela Hastings, co-owner of the property, “ Bells Opera House is listed on the National Register for Historic Properties and all work done with federal or state funds to restore the building must be done according to strict historic standards. Jim Lepi’s experience over the past 25 years will keep us on the right track."
Within the next few weeks Mr. Lepi will be soliciting local bids for the work earmarked by the State and City from the recently approved grants. It is hoped that work will be started on the upper portion of the building as the weather improves in the near future.
The grant funds, to be administered by the City of Hillsboro, will not be dispersed until work specifications and schedules are completed.
The Bells Opera House is owned by Drew Hastings, who is a candidate for Hillsboro mayor.
