Confusion results over local candidate Randy Mustard's shared name

A Pike County dog warden who is currently facing criminal charges of animal cruelty shares the same name of a Paint Township trustee in Highland County, which is causing some problems of misidentification for the local man.
Randy Mustard lives in the Rocky Fork Lake area of Highland County and is currently running for a seat on the Highland County Board of Commissioners.
The second Randy Mustard is a dog warden in Pike County, and was scheduled to be arraigned this week on 11 counts of animal cruelty, all first-degree misdemeanors. The charges resulted after the Pike County Sheriff's Office investigated a complaint that puppies had been left in a trash bag at the pound. According to a report from The Chillicothe Gazette the officer responding to the scene and "found an adult female dog dead inside the bag, one dead puppy and 10 live puppies who were so young that their eyes hadn't opened yet."
An employee with the dog pound told the officer that after the mother dog had died that his supervisor - the Pike County Randy Mustard - told him told him "to 'bag them up' and throw them out, including the puppies. He alleged Mustard never administered a lethal injection to euthanize the puppies," according to The Gazette. Mustard alleges that he administered a lethal injection to the puppies and told the employee not to put them in the bag until they were deceased.
The Pike County Sheriff's Office is investigating the matter, and the Pike County Prosecutor's Office has been contacted.
The Highland County Randy Mustard said that it is a terrible incident that has allegedly occurred, and that he does not want to be associated with it. The incident is further complicated by the fact that the local Mustard currently holds a public office and is seeking a county office.
"I had a bunch of phone calls this week from people who wanted to know what the deal is and what was going on," Mustard said. "There are apparently a lot of comments on the Internet now."
This is not the first time Mustard has had problems resulting from the alleged actions from the Pike County Mustard. A few years ago, the IRS allegedly confused their names.
"There are three of us in the area," Mustard said. "There's a Randy Mustard in Pike County, one in Ross County, and me in Highland County."
The local Mustard said that he wants Highland County to know that is he not facing the criminal charges and he is not associated with the Pike County dog pound in any way.
"I have never lived in Pike County, never worked in Pike County," he said. "I have lived in Highland County my whole life, and I have no criminal record whatsoever."
