Clerk of Courts presents check to HCSO for new cruiser

Highland County Clerk of Courts Ike Hodson presented a check to Highland County Sheriff Ron Ward in the amount of $14,500 to help with the purchase of a new 2014 cruiser.
“The Clerk of Courts in the State of Ohio administers the Title Office in each county, and Ohio law allows us to expend money for various projects, passing through the County Commissioner’s Office," Hodson said. "I felt honored to be able to help ensure the safety of Sheriff Ward and his officers by assisting in purchasing a new cruiser to replace one that was worn out."
“The assistance that Clerk of Courts Hodson has given us represents approximately half the funds that it takes to purchase and equip a new patrol vehicle for the fleet," Sheriff Ron Ward said. "The other half will be from donations from the public, thus no general fund monies.”
This new vehicle will replace a 2006 patrol vehicle with over 200,000 miles.
