Board of Realtors holds Christmas luncheon, installs new officers

With an inspiring medley of seasonal songs from the heavenly voice of Brynna Boone, the Highland County Board of Realtors celebrated its annual Christmas board meeting Thursday afternoon at the Hillsboro Ponderosa Banquet Center.

President Kelly Kimble conducted her final meeting and administered the oaths of office during the installation of 2014 board officers.

The 2014 president of the Board of Realtors is Diane Uhl. Kim Boyer will serve as vice president. Board members include: Risa Boone, Steve Elliott, Robyn Coomer, Jack Pitzer, Kelly Kimble, Scott Crawford and Mike Campbell.

Kimble said the new officers are already planning the meeting schedule and guest speakers for 2014.

"It's been a pleasure to serve as president this year," Kimble told the Realtors and affiliates. "Thank you for the opportunity."

Kimble encouraged the new officers and reminded them "Leadership is not a reward, it is a responsibility."

"In carrying out your duties as president, vice president, and directors, you must at all times remember who you are and what you represent," Kimble said.

During the meeting, Brynna Boone sang Christmas favorites "O Holy Night," "Silent Night," "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," and "Where are you Christmas?"

Kimble also thanked Sue Davis of Preferred Midwest Title in Hillsboro for her continued support. Realtors and affiliates also sang "Happy Birthday" to Davis.

Mike Pell and Amy Schoultheis spoke on behalf of First State Bank.

"We thank you for accepting us in Hillsboro and for the reception we have received," said Pell, the bank's president and chief executive officer.

Kimble thanked the staff of Ponderosa and owners John and Andrea Holt for catering the monthly luncheons. Jeff Dickey of The Dickey Group, Inc. Realtors offered the blessing.

Realtors and affiliates received gifts from Santa Claus and were encouraged by Kimble to "pay it forward," during the holidays and all year long.
