Batavia OSHP Post investigating two-vehicle fatal crash involving Hillsboro resident

The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle, fatal traffic crash involving a Toyota Corolla and a Nissan Frontier. The crash occurred July 18, at approximately 3:55 p.m. on U.S. Route 50, near Smokey Road, in Jackson Township, Clermont County.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Toyota Corolla, operated by Connor S. Hodge, 18, Mount Orab, was traveling northeast on U.S. Route 50 when it traveled left of center and struck a 2018 Nissan Frontier, operated by Kimberly A. Boyer, 56, Hillsboro, that was traveling southwest on U.S. Route 50. After impact, the Corolla traveled off the left side of the roadway and the Frontier came to final rest in the roadway.

Hodge was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and Boyer was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. Two juvenile passengers that were present in the Frontier sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted with this incident by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson Township Fire & Rescue, Stonelick Township Fire & EMS, Wayne Township Fire & EMS, Williamsburg Township Fire & EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation, and Tarvin’s Auto Service & Recovery.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
