Since 1994, the AAARC has presented a Black History Month program to honor the lifetime achievements of a Highland County resident or to highlight an aspect of the area’s history.

To mark their 20th anniversary, the AAARC will look back on past programs and honor those who led the way.

The annual program has honored educators and advocates, members of local families, athletes and sports teams, Black Civil War veterans and Tuskegee Airmen, ministers and churches, and judges and law enforcement officers.

The program will begin at 1 p.m. in the lecture hall. Everyone is invited.
