Adena Greenfield Medical Center recognized for specialty care

Adena Greenfield Medical Center has been accredited by CARF International for its Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and Stroke Specialty Program.

It’s the sixth consecutive three-year accreditation awarded to AGMC by the international organization whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of medical services

“This accreditation illustrates the excellent work done by the AGMC staff, which works every day to improve the lives of patients,” said Lynn Harris, the center’s Director of Rehabilitation Services.

“It is rewarding to have our goal-oriented and patient-centered program recognized by CARF, and know that we are working at the highest standards of rehabilitative care,” she added.

The center has provided Inpatient Rehabilitation Services to patients since 1984. Those services include the efforts of a variety of staff, including nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physiatrists, recreation therapists, speech pathologists and support staff.

In 1999, Adena Health System and Greenfield Medical Center joined together to create the Adena Greenfield Medical Center. Today, AGMC is recognized as one of the most profitable critical care hospitals in the nation.

Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF International, it establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of programs and services.
