Adams County dentist shot in Peebles

Peebles police and the Adams County Sheriff's Office are investigating the shooting of an Adams County dentist.

According to a report by WLWT TV in Cincinnati, Dr. James "Randy" Franklin, 55, was sitting in a car in the parking lot of his Peebles dentistry practice with his wife when she opened fire on him.

Franklin was airlifted to University Hospital for treatment of potentially life-threatening injuries.

Franklin's wife was arrested a few miles away, WLWT reported.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Dr. Franklin's wife, Pamela A. Franklin, 41, is being held without bond on a felonious assault charge at the Adams County jail.

The incident remains under investigation.
