42nd annual Family Camp begins at Restoration Acres

On a beautiful Lord’s Day, the 42nd annual Family Camp kicked off as Christians from near and far descended upon Restoration Acres off of state Route 124 near Hillsboro.

The annual camp, which draws several thousand people each year to the picturesque, 150-plus acre campground, runs through Thursday night.

Family Camp began in 1972 and has grown to become a premier event in the Restoration Movement in America.

Director Kerry Allen said Hillsboro’s Family Camp has been the catalyst for other Family Camps to be established from Delaware to Arizona, and from New York to Florida.

It is a preaching event sponsored by Person-to-Person Ministries that typically includes 21 different sermons from 15 to 20 different speakers.

Speakers scheduled to deliver messages this year include: Jeff Bush, Vernon Eldridge, Olan Hicks, Mike Steere, Terry Carter, Jason Cole, Dean Jackson, Mike Roberts, Denny Coburn, George Al-Salty, Jack Cottrell, George Faull, Tony Sullivan, Ray Bennett, Johnny Pressley, Harvey Bream, Willie Purdee, Aaron Davis, David Frye and Tony Sullivan.
