3 injured in SR 753 crash

The Paint Creek Joint EMS and Fire District responded to a one-vehicle crash Monday afternoon that sent three individuals to the hospital, with at least one victim sustaining serious physical trauma.

According to Paint Creek Fire Chief Bradley George, the crash occurred just before 3 p.m. on state Route 753 near the Rattlesnake Creek bridge.

The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. According to the Post, four people were traveling in a Chevy Suburban on state Route 753 when it reportedly went off the roadway, striking a utility pole, overturning, and then striking a guardrail.

George said that one person had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters.

One victim, who sustained serious physical trauma, was transported by helicopter from the scene. Two other victims were transported to Greenfield Adena Area Medical Center by squad.

Emergency crews were on scene for approximately two hours.

In addition to the Paint Creek fire district, crews from the Highland County North Joint Fire and Ambulance District out of Leesburg also responded to the scene.
