Hillsboro Police Department responds to ‘security incident’ at HMS

On Oct. 31 at 11:57 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the Hillsboro Middle School in response to a security incident.  

The Hillsboro High School and Middle School campuses were searched and cleared by responding officers and found to be secure from any known threats at 12:26 p.m.

This incident remains under investigation.

Hillsboro City Schools Superintendent Tim Davis released the following statement Tuesday:

"This afternoon at the high school/middle school we had a security alert. We had to evacuate the building to ensure this alert was a false alarm. Law enforcement was on site to help secure the building. No threats were found, and all students finished out the day as normal."
