Hundreds of fans gathered to watch the traditional demolition derby as well as the lawnmower demolition derby Tuesday evening at the Highland County Fair.

A 22-year-old Hillsboro woman was arrested Sept. 2 by the Hillsboro Police Department on a misdemeanor charge of possessing a drug abuse instrument. According to a news release by the HPD, at approximately 5:36 p.m. Sunday, officers were in the area of 1100 Northview Drive and noticed a "strong chemical odor that is associated with methamphetamine labs" coming from an apartment.

Hunting with Heroes is pleased to announce its fall hunting opportunities for disabled hunters. The fourth annual Lt. Colonel Ted Epple Veterans with Disabilities Bow Hunt is set for Nov. 9–11. These hunts have been successful with their participants.

Because Ohio’s unemployment rate has dropped from 10.6 percent at the height of the recession to 7.2 percent in July 2012, the maximum number of weeks of available unemployment compensation will decrease to 63, starting in September.
