Hillsboro woman sentenced to community control for meth possession

A Hillsboro woman has been sentenced to community control after pleading guilty to a third-degree felony drug possession charge.

Loretta Wilkin, 56, of Hillsboro was indicted in January on one count of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a third-degree felony. She pleaded guilty to the charge March 20.

A bill of particulars alleges that on or about Oct. 22, a Hillsboro Police officer initiated a traffic stop on Wilkin’s vehicle for expired registration. It was alleged that there was a “strong odor of marijuana” in the vehicle, and after officers searched the car, they found drug paraphernalia and 7.09 grams of meth. 

On May 1, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Wilkin to three years of community control.
