Hillsboro Police Report
The following is the Hillsboro Police Report for Dec. 8-11.
On Dec. 8 at approximately 5:35 p.m., the Hillsboro Police received a BOLO from Waverly PD referencing an alleged kidnapping in their area. Officers from the Hillsboro Police Department located the vehicle and made a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Main Street. Two males and one female were detained at the scene, and the juvenile was located. Waverly Police Department responded and took custody of Guy Myers, 45, of Hillsboro, and the juvenile was released back to their parents.
On Dec. 10, the Hillsboro Police Department was dispatched to the 200 block of N. High St. for an individual allegedly trespassing. An arrest was made and charges filed. Andrew McCutcheon, 38, of Waverly was arrested for criminal trespassing.
On Dec. 9 at approximately 2:43 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call from a residence in the 400 block of North High Street reference to a burglary. The suspect had left the scene before officers’ arrival. Officers were able to collect evidence while on scene. This case is currently under investigation.
Arrest and Crash Reports for Dec. 11
Kristina Scruggs, 37, of Hillsboro and Darlene Yuellig, 73, of Hillsboro were stopped with traffic in the 100 block of South High Street, south of the intersection of Main Street. Scruggs was directly behind Yuellig. Scruggs advised that Yuellig’s vehicle started to move forward a bit and her foot slipped off the brake. As a result, Scruggs allegedly struck the rear end of Yuellig’s vehicle. Scruggs was issued a citation for improper starting.
Unit 2, a 17-year-old juvenile, was traveling northbound on South High Street approaching the intersection of Pleasant Street. The juvenile did not have any stop or yield signs, and it was a continuous lane of travel. Unit 1, also a 17-year-old juvenile, was stopped on East Pleasant Street at the intersection of South High Street. Unit 1 proceeded, entering the roadway of southbound South High Street. Unit 1 allegedly failed to yield to Unit 2 that was already occupying the roadway legally. As a result, Unit 1 struck Unit 2. The driver of Unit 1 was issued a citation for failure to yield.
Mary Eldridge, 26, of Hillsboro was arrested for theft.
