Hillsboro Police Report
The following is the Hillsboro Police Report for Sept. 18-20.
Matthew West, 28, of Hillsboro was cited for expired plates.
Kristina Harless, 53, of Hillsboro was cited for speed.
Betty Hargett, 70, of Hillsboro was cited for speed.
Jill Reed, 58, of Hillsboro was cited for speed.
Christina Rhoads, 34, of Hillsboro was cited for speed.
On Sept. 14 at approximately 12:12 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the area of North High Street at West Beech Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, Jay Rhude, 73, of South Carolina was traveling southbound stopped in traffic at the intersection of North High Street at West Beech Street. James Bryant, 63, of Springfield was traveling southbound behind Rhude and allegedly failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and struck Rhude in a rear-end type collision. Minor injuries were reported on scene. Bryant was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
On Sept. 19 at 5:13 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the area of North West Street and Pea Ridge Road for a two-car crash. Upon arrival, Derrick Ross, 26, of Hillsboro and Toby Morgan, 21, of New Vienna were both traveling northbound on North West Street. Morgan stopped at the intersection, yielding to southbound traffic in preparation to turn westbound on Pea Ridge Road, when Ross allegedly failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead, striking Morgan in a rear-end type collision. Minor injuries were reported on scene. Ross was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
On Sept. 20th at 4:15 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the 100 block of Harry Sauner Road for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, Tamra Bartley, 62, of New Vienna was traveling eastbound on Harry Sauner Road and came to a stop for traffic. Brandy Oppy, 37, of Hillsboro was also traveling eastbound and allegedly failed to stop and rear-ended Bartley. No injuries were reported at scene. Oppy was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
