Hillsboro Police Report

The following is the Hillsboro Police Report for Sept. 4.

Sept. 4

Bobby Clifford, 48, of Hillsboro was arrested for assault and criminal damaging.

Jamie Ballein, 45, of Hillsboro was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On Sept. 4 at approximately 9:12 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the area of West Main Street near Highland Drive for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, Marilyn Berfeld, 77, of Hillsboro was traveling westbound on West Main Street. James Slater, 82, of Hillsboro was exiting the parking lot of Highland Auto Service. Slater allegedly failed to yield to Bergfeld and proceeded to enter the roadway from private property. As a result, Slater allegedly struck the driver’s side of Berfeld’s vehicle. No injuries were reported on scene. Slater was cited for failure to yield when entering the roadway from private property.
