Hillsboro Police Report
The following is the Hillsboro Police Report for Dec. 11-13.
Dec. 11
At 5:38 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to a four-car crash with possible injuries. All units were traveling northbound on North High Street near East North Street in the City of Hillsboro.
Janet Fernandez, 59, of Hillsboro and Stephen Black, 65, of Hillsboro were stopped in traffic near 310 North High Street. Ashely Sexton, 32 of Sardinia, quickly stopped behind Fernandez. Jacob Cooper, 28, of Leesburg was traveling at approximately 25 MPH and allegedly struck Sexton’s vehicle in the rear. This allegedly caused Sexton to strike Fernandez, and she allegedly rolled into Black’s vehicle.
An occupant in Cooper’s vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Highland District Hospital. Cooper’s vehicle suffered disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Functional damage to minor damage was reported on the other vehicles. Cooper was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Dec. 12
At 1:39 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to a three-car collision on North West Street. Skyler Bass, 22, of Hillsboro was traveling northbound on North West Street when allegedly failing to stop in an assured clear distance ahead. As a result, Bass struck Kimberly Degen, 56, of Hillsboro, who was stopped in traffic. Degen was forced into a third vehicle being driven by Brian Brumley, 60, of Brooksville, Ky.
No injuries were reported, Bass’s 2008 Mitsubishi was towed from the scene. Bass was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Dec. 13
At 12:49 p.m., a two-car, non-injury crash was reported on North High Street. Dana Simmons, 49, of Hillsboro was backing his 2012 Chevrolet from a parking space and he allegedly struck a trailer connected to a southbound vehicle, driven by Kenneth Long, 65, of Hillsboro. No injuries were reported.
Arrests
Mark Gatrell, 32, of Hillsboro was arrested for failure to appear on a bench warrant.
Rusty McPherson, 40, of Hillsboro was arrested for failure to appear on a bench warrant.
Tyler Reed, 31, of Chillicothe was arrested for driving under suspension and speed.
