Highland County Press switches to paid format

Effective with this week’s edition, The Highland County Press is now a paid newspaper publication.
“We are asking for our current readers who are receiving home or business delivery via our motor route carriers or staff members to pay an annual subscription fee of $10,” said HCP publisher Rory Ryan.
“We are fully aware of today’s economic climate so we are implementing this as a voluntary subscription fee. We think $10 per year is most reasonable for your locally owned and operated community newspaper.”
Ryan said all current vendors who provide copies of The Highland County Press are free to decide if they want to charge customers the single-copy rate of 25 cents.
“We will leave it to each store’s discretion,” Ryan said. “They are free to sell the paper and either keep the money or donate it to charity; or, they may continue to let customers pick up a copy at no charge.”
The $10 annual subscription payments may be mailed to: The Highland County Press, P.O. Box 849, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133 or dropped off at 113 West Main Street in uptown Hillsboro.
