The Transylvania women's basketball team has captured its highest national ranking in program history, rising to No. 3 in the country by both the WBCA Top 25 and D3Hoops.com Top 25 polls the past two weeks.

The Pioneers moved up one spot from their Jan. 11 ranking in both polls, vaulting Amherst College, which lost its first game of the season to Bates.
Leading both polls at No. 1 is Hope College, followed by Christopher Newport in the No. 2 spots in both polls.

Transylvania’s record improved to 15-0 overall and 7-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, continuing its best start in program history, following a win Wednesday over Manchester.

Fairfield graduate Grace Shope of Leesburg scored 13 points in the opening half for Transy in their win Wednesday. She is averaging 8.2 ppg. so far this season.
