Lions win at Lancaster

The Fairfield Lions varsity cross-country team placed first of 12 teams in the Division III team race at the Bob Reall Cross Country Invitational.

The event was held at Lancaster High School on Saturday, Sept. 24, as the Lions won by 35 points.   

Scorers for the team came were in the Top 17 runners of 79.   

Finishing for Fairfield were Michael Mangus, 3rd (17:36); Blake Hildebrant, 5th (18:15); John Cain, 9th (18:52); Wyatt Crothers, 14th (19:09); Dustin Willey, 17th (19:23); Brant Huff, 48th (21:08) and Matthew Leach, 62nd (22:39).

The event was won by Kody Wolf of Southern with a time of 16:24.8. In second was Paint Valley's Daniel Gardner at 16:27.6.
