Lady Lions ranked No. 2 in state polls

LEESBURG — The Fairfield Lady Lions have continued to not only move on in the postseason, but the have jumped to the No. 2 spot in the state Division IV coaches softball polls as of Wednesday, May 25.

This season the Lady Lions broke into the polls at No. 4 earlier this season, then jumped to No. 3, fell back to No. 4, and as of this week are the No. 2 team in the state, as they prepare for their regional semifinal game against Newark Catholic on Thursday at Pickerington High School.

Newark Catholic is No. 6 in the state polls.

This postseason, the Lady Lions have defeated Western Latham in the sectional tournament, with district wins over Eastern Meigs and Belpre.[[In-content Ad]]
